Mistletoe-llaneous info ( a brief bio):

ChristmasRadio.com was launched on March 14, 1999.  Back then, the "broadcast" consisted of a rotation of about 30 public domain midi files and we were lucky to have any listeners at all.

Yet, after just a few years, our rotation and listenership had grown.

Presently, our rotation is over 1,600 songs, with more than 500 of those songs having been submitted to us from independent artists (a number that increases every year).    Our broadcast, besides being available directly from our website, is now accessible on most main streaming services through the Live365 app.   (In fact...and excuse us for bragging...since our inception,  we've had Christmas music fans from around the World tune in for more than 615,000 listening hours and we've even been mentioned in a couple of news outlets!*)

However, our journey hasn't been all cookies and milk.  On January 31, 2016, due to the expiration of The Webcaster Settlement Act of 2009, royalties for internet-only radio stations drastically increased, financially forcing ChristmasRadio.com, along with many other webcasters who wanted to continue to operate LEGALLY, to cease broadcasting copyrighted material.  This resulted not only in fewer webcasters, and thus less revenue for singers & songwriters, but it also reduced the number of available avenues for independent artist to share their works.   As the song goes...it was a sad, sad situation that was getting more and more absurd.

Happily, that was just a little bump on the sleigh ride of life and we're back "broadcasting the Holiday Spirit year round"
with, what some have called, the most eclectic Christmas broadcast on the Internet.   We are also proud to continue our tradition of sharing with you great music from independent artists...music that might otherwise go unheard.

As a side note, we are always humbled when folks contact us asking if we accept donations to offset our broadcasting costs.  Though we greatly appreciate such offers, we respectfully ask anyone who does have a little extra cash on hand to give it to the charity of their choosing.   For those that don't have a favorite charity, we invite you to visit our Spread some Holiday cheer page for a list of charities that could use the funds much more than we could.

Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank all our listeners, along with all the artists who share their works with us.  May the coming years be filled with love & hope and remember...Christmas is a feeling in your heart, not a time of year!
